Meet Dr. Susan Korch
Dr. Susan Korch is an orthodontist with more than 25 years of experience creating healthy, confident smiles. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and completed a three-year orthodontic residency at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she received a Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and a Master of Science in Oral Biology.
Dr. Korch’s passion is creating beautiful, esthetic smiles that stand the test of time, beginning in childhood and lasting through adulthood. She focuses on treatment that not only straightens teeth but also supports facial balance, healthy function, and long-term stability. Dr. Korch has pursued additional training focused on smile esthetics and continues to refine her skills through ongoing education.
Dr. Korch and her husband, Dr. Thomas Appleby, are proud parents of two sons. Having experienced orthodontic care as both a patient and a parent, Dr. Korch understands the process from both sides of the chair. That experience shapes the way she communicates with families and thoughtfully plans treatment for each patient. Since moving to the area in 1998, she has remained active in the community, supporting local athletes, musicians, and dancers through their activities and events, and actively participating in her church.
Outside the office, Dr. Korch enjoys vinyasa yoga, Peloton workouts, music, theatre, travel, and art. She especially enjoys spending time with her family, her dog, and two cats.
